Happy Halloween from the PPI Pirates

October 31st, 2013

PPIScallywags

Ahoy Mateys!

It’s Halloween and the People Plus Pirates are swabbing the decks by day.

But tonight, beware, ye might want to hide your rum!

Here’s a short rhyme to liven your time on All Hallow’s Eve:

Ahoy, matey!

Staffing pirates are we

of People Plus Incorporated,

And the treasure we seek

Every day of the week

Are employees you’ll agree are top-rated.

We’ll find ya a crew

That’s ‘eartie and true,

Not scallywags and barnacles.

We won’t loot yer doubloons

Or leave ya marooned;

But keelhaul each and every obstacle.

So shiver me timbers,

Make landlubbers tremble,

These orders you cannot belay.

It’s anchors aweigh,

PPI’s underway.

How can we

Put the PLUS in yer day?

For New Employee, Safety Pays

At People Plus, Safety pays…literally! For Dana Decker, in Central City, Safety paid her $100!

Every month, People Plus has a Safety Incentive Drawing.  To participate in the drawing, new employees must complete an on-site safety briefing with their manager. Once completed, employees turn in the Safety Briefing Sheet within their first week on the job. Briefing Sheets submitted within the designated time frame are placed in the drawing. If an employee’s sheet is drawn, there are two more steps to ensure the $100 check.

First, during orientation with People Plus, each new employee is provided an After Hours Emergency Care Card, which contains our Accident/Incident policy and contact information in the event of an Accident or Incident. Second, employees must be aware of our Monthly Safety Message, which can be found on our website. If the employee can produce this card and quote our Monthly Safety Message, then the $100 is theirs!

At People Plus, Safety is our top priority and for Dana Decker, it paid $100.

Congratulations, Dana!

Dr. Albert Schweitzer said, “I don’t know what your destiny will be, but this I do know: those who will be truly happy will be those who sought and found how to serve others.”

In this profession, I have interviewed many people at different points in the job search process. Some of the most employable candidates are the ones who have found satisfaction and contentment no matter where they are.

The way you view your job will always make an incredible difference in your job satisfaction. If you are employed, someone at your company saw a need and picked you to serve that need.

If you are not employed, sometimes keeping your attitude positive can be a challenge.  Unfortunately, a negative attitude is very difficult to hide in an interview and is a huge red flag to hiring managers.

One great way to keep your attitude positive is to find ways to serve others. Helping other people will lift your spirits and can help you stay focused on the positive.

How will you serve others in your job today? If you are not employed, how will you serve others during your unemployment?
