In her first six months with People Plus, Rose has successfully navigated through many challenges!  All the while, she has maintained a positive attitude and energy while building her team in Greenville. Rose brings eight years of experience in recruiting,  sixteen years of experience in sales, and five years in leadership roles. Congratulations Rose! We are proud of you!

Squash and Gobble Fall Festival

The Greenville Tourism Commission kicked off their 7th annual Squash and Gobble Festival in downtown Greenville. Over 100 artisan booths were displayed and lined along the streets of downtown Greenville. They provided free fun filled activities for the kids including pony rides, pumpkin painting, balloon twisting, pumpkin golf and much more! This 2015 Fall Festival had a great turn out! People Plus was happy to attend this celebration of talent and entertainment!

How Safe is Your Workplace??

Most every place of business will ask their employees to continually look for ways to make the workplace safer. But did you know that 80 out of every 100 accidents are the fault of the person involved in the incident. You may need to read that statement again. In other words, unsafe ACTS cause FOUR TIMES more accidents than unsafe CONDITIONS.

That’s right, no matter how safe the conditions, equipment, or facility, 80% of the time an accident is caused by the actions of the person, not an unsafe work environment. It is said that knowledge is the beginning of wisdom. Now that you are aware of this statistic, what will you do differently at work today to ensure safety??

STOP accidents before they STOP you.

 

Safe Work Habits Pay Off

Developing safe work habits on the job helps us to avoid certain exposures even if we are not thinking about the particular hazard. Here are some examples:

 Hazard: Getting in the path of a moving object moving towards a stationary object.

Safety Habit: Make sure machine openings are guarded and pay attention to warning signals.

 Hazard: Catch points/shear points ‐ objects that have sharp corners, splines, teeth or other rough edges capable of catching the operator’s clothing.

Safety Habit: Wear clothing appropriate for the job, make sure guards are in place, and remove nails and staples from packing crates.

 Hazard: Squeeze points ‐ created by two objects as they move toward one another.

 Safety Habit: Maintain a minimum of 18 inches of clearance between moving and fixed objects.  Maintain proper guarding, and relocate equipment where necessary.
